The Vayadolia Debate
The idea was that by being put to work, and sometimes this work would take a couple of generations. So people would die, but their good work would then be conferred on their children. And so it's an idea that through labor and through the extraction of value on the land that has been bonded to indigenous communities. The alienation of people from land is really an integral part of how this value debate was resolved.
