The Gallant Hours

In the unauthorized history of the Pacific War, we also like to correct popular mythology when we encounter it. One of my favorite movies dealing with the Pacific War is a movie called the Gallant Hours. In James Cagney's last ever leading role in a movie, he looks a lot like Halsey. But this movie portrays the Yamamoto shoot down as happening concurrent with Guadalcanal in 42. That movie gets almost everything right.
