The Importance of Binding Early in Trauma Resuscitation

Binding the pelvis is going to be one of those things you want to do pretty much upfront in the first 15 minutes for any patient in shock who you suspect has internal bleeding. Recognizing that binding it early may help you control the venous bleed. The other big pitfall is inappropriate application of a pelvic binder. So having it right up too high on the pelvis, you're going to want it like a 70s low rider gene, if you will.
