The Flood Story of Gilgamesh

Gilgamesh was written a thousand years before parts of the Hebrew Bible would have been compiled. The stories went across the different civilizations that birthed these epics and myths. Did the writers of the Bible, were they familiar with Gilgamesh? And they probably were. It's just kind of a cool thing to think about.
