arguments in koramatsu versus the united states began on october 11th 1944 The nine justices took their seats on a bench before a courtroom crowded by lawyers tourists and interested spectators. In june of 1942 just five months after the bombing of pearl harbor the japanese army had suffered crippling defeats at the battle of midway By 1943 military intelligence was reporting that the army of japan no longer posed a threat to the american west coast But over 110,000 nike people had already been confined in detention camps.
