In the movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger ends up totally covered in mud. He's lying there on the riverbank waiting for the predator to finish him off. And to his surprise, suddenly it seems like this alien hunter can't see him. The mud has made him invisible to the alien. So finally, he has an advantage to even the playing field against the enemy with overwhelming technology.
