John's Exile

Church tradition has it that hat john was supposed to be executed, and he was. The method to execute him was boiling, like boiling in oil or something like that. And so it freaked people out that there was something other worldly about john. Well, we're not going to try to kill him any more. We're just going to stick him on this isle and let him live there. So that was was deemed his punishment, you know, to separate him from the community that he knew. But there's no indication that he was isolated or alone,. People couldn't reach him with manuscripts or copies of the scriptures.
