I think something that's also important to stress about taking children seriously in general is that we we don't have complete knowledge of how to act perfectly in every situation according to this and there will always be that us being fallible as we mentioned in the beginning. I could imagine it's being very difficult to do this with your own kid when most other parents aren't especially if most people you hang out with aren't doing this.
