I think it all boils down to weight and battery life and speed. If they can build something that is truly lightweight, gets a day in a battery charge, looks aesthetically pleasing and has very high bandwidth sync to your phone then it starts becoming very interesting as an always-on-always available display. I don't remember the exact metrics, but the amount of weight that you could rest on the bridge of a nose was much higher than one would expect. Like the AirPods really seem to have succeeded in augmentation. And now I have multiple pairs floating around at all times.
