Why Is It So Hard to Build New Housing?

In Europe, to me, the transportation seems to be pretty good when I compare it to other places. Why is that not developed in the United States as much? Part of it is just we don't have the natural advantage of being a dense, of being dense cities. The US has uniquely corrupts transportation bureaucracies. And so the bottom line is we can't get the same back for above A transportation structure that we do in other parts of the world.
