The Beauty of Sun, Roses, and Birds
The narrator describes the beauty of the sun, roses, and birds. They observe a nest of sparrows and admire the young birds with their featherless heads. The narrator wonders about the ducks swimming in the water and questions the ignorance of the roses. Suddenly, two horses pass by with a peasant boy riding one of them. He plucks a rose from the bush and places it in his hat. The mother sparrow discusses the usefulness of roses and the potential removal of the rose bush. As evening approaches, the gnats play in the air and the nightingale sings to the roses about the beauty that lasts forever.
