The EU's Strategy for Zero Emissions Hydrogen
Industry accounts for around 24% of CO2 emissions globally. The EU hydrogen strategy particularly highlights the use of green hydrogen to replace carbon intensive hydrogen in refineries, ammonia and new forms of methanol production. Steel is almost as straightforward as chemical feedstocks but not quite. In Europe it's responsible for 20% of industrial and 8% of total emissions. For net zero steel you have to eliminate the use of coke and coal or capture the resulting CO2 emissions.
