"I think that this country and its ambition to be a more perfect union is worthy for me to participate in making sure that everyone even knows I don't agree with that freedom of speech," she said. "There's a strain in activism right now, particularly with my generation and younger generations where you don't talk to the person on the other side." She added: "We've had to continuously talk across the tables to people who did not agree with us"
