Is My Mom Really Parenting Me?

I feel like I've had a lot of boyfriends in the past that made me feel bad about my relationship with my parents just because like they hated their parents. But then I was thinking about it the other day and I was like if my mom wasn't my mom and I met her I would want to be friends with her. Like so now I'm at the age where I'm like yes she's my mom but how much is she really parenting me rather than just like giving me advice as like a friend would? Well yeah moms can evolve into like your best friend. Yeah every now and then you have to remember like oh it's my mom and like she's coming from that angle
