The Ottomans and Malta
The Ottomans were nothing if not thorough. Engineers disguised as fishermen slipped onto Malta, measuring the walls and producing detailed plans and models of every fortification. The knights had thoroughly modernized their defenses after a failed siege in 1551. Assan spent the winter of 1564 in Tripoli with Turgudres, preparing for what was to come.
