Michael Crump's Memoirs
Henry Henson remembers his first Michael sighting at a local venue in 1967, just after his own band finished their set. In Crump's recollection, his band prevailed over the Jackson five that night, but only because of a technicality. It turned out the Jackson's weren't actually eligible for the contest because only one of them went to Roosevelt High School. And when the Jackson's didn't win the talent show and my group did, they booed us. The women were screaming. It was like the Beatles' band, you know?
