MotoGP racing is advertising, and there's two forms of advertising out there. You've got the kind of advertising that says, this toothpaste will make your teeth 20% wider so buy it instead of the other one. And MotoGP racing is clearly in that latter category. If Fabio Cortoraro goes out on his MotoGP Yamaha and wins a race, that doesn't in any way tell me anything about how good a YZFR1 is gonna be if I walk into my local dealership to buy one.
