Spanish Colonialism in the Lesser Antilles

The indigenous populations were already fairly small, and there was no gold at this time. The spanish really neglected them in general and showed much less interest in them than in the great territories on the mainland. And particularly the lesser antillas were really completely ignored. Some of them were briefly inhabited by sp Spanish colonizers. But some of them such as barbadoes, were just totally wiped out.
