The Crucifixion
The eternal love of God had to happen in the here and now, or it wasn't real. In other words, the universal love must have. We were instantiated. That means have an instance. The cross for Paul doesn't mean just the crucifixion. It represents domination and power and hatred. And so what's the victory? Usually I say just quickly, he'll say, over Satan's in and death. But wait. Let's be more poetic at Mark's visit than war...It's a decisive victory of light over darkness. Perfect love casts out fear. Light over. Death. Over. Love.
