What Is a Dormant Black Hole?

A team of astronomers have found the first ever dormant black hole. It's located in the large magellanic cloud, a satellite galaxy of the milky way. The atmosphere will again be stripped away over a period of a hundred plus million years - but it makes sense to do it if we can.
