The idea of this f distribution, it's really like a starting point for me for research questions that could be asked about variances. So two people could have the same mean of five on the set of items, but one person has no variability. That itself can be an outcome of interest that we might want to predict. I think as soon as you start picking away at the scab o variance, either as a dependent variable or as a predictor variable, it is eye opening. And the kinds of things that we can ask from our theories.
