The Musical 1776
1776, a musical about singing founding fathers, opens on Broadway and becomes a Tony Award winner. In April of this year, it's announced that the entire cast will be made up of performers that identify as female, trans, and or non-binary. One of those lesser known names is Edward Rutledge of South Carolina who has a song in the musical where he basically opposes any attempts to end the slave trade.
