The Ringer and the Fletcher Character

The Fletcher character is a guy who didn't make it as a musician. They don't even really talk about that, they don't really mythologize it. We see him play and we're sure that he's a good musician because he understands music deeply,. But he's not a famous musician and he's just a teacher. He might feel like he's the best teacher because he's at the best school. And he's probably like, I'm the single best of this. So that's his motivation. Yeah, he's basically like Phil Jackson crossed with whoever.
