I think Xi Jinping sees Taiwan in a much different context than it does Russia. I'm guessing that there are many in the high command in Beijing who have serious misgivings about going that far in with Vladimir Putin and Russia. They've been given a moment of mutual convenience against the West that they are trying to exploit. And my guess is that Xi Jinping is going to keep his head down. He's only going to appear when there's good news or documents to be signed"
