The Last of the Romans

Gregory the great was a doctor of the church. He is considered to be one of the last of the great romans. His name, by the way, comes from a greek word for watchful, for alert. In his family he came from what is called a senatorial family. They were very successful people in government and also had a strong christian backgroundatr on people in the church. The guy was really talented e'll see later when he becomes bishop. But at the end of five years, his dream was actually become a monk.
