Can I Do a ZFS on Linux?
The best option right now is a project called ZFS boot menu. You can literally just get clone a single shell script and run it to install the Ubuntu version of your choice on top of the ZFS root with ZFS boot environments so that you can boot from an earlier snapshot if things went wrong. The process is a little bit more manual but once all that's done, you end up with a ready-to-use reliable system.
