i grew up on a street that had two movie theatres, ax and casablancad. I started going pretty late, cause my parents were not comfortable with just letting me go to the would. They would have these double bills in the afternoon. There was a hey day of film clubs, but that was a little earlier, maybe in the seventies. And that had receded also, i think, because of a certain amount of censorship and political violence that was going on on me.
