Andrei's Life After the Second World War

Andrei was born on a collective farm in Ukraine during the Second World War. His mother would violently beat him when he wet the bed while sleeping. By the time Andrei started school, he was so weak from hunger that he often fainted. He became an excellent student and by his teenage years had become extremely aroused at seeing young women struggle for their lives. But after fostering a relationship with a young divorcee, he found he could not perform in the bedroom. The shame of this failure drove him to attempt to take his own life - but he was rescued by some neighbors. In 1961, he moved to Rostov where he married Feildosia; they have two children.
