The Kessler Syndrome

The Kessler syndrome is a theory by NASA scientist Donald Kessler. It says that over the last 60 years, the amount of stuff orbiting the earth has accelerated exponentially. A piece of debris traveling at those 19,000 miles per hour would completely annihilate a satellite. We currently have 3,300 working satellites in orbit and it's a trillion dollar industry.
