The Effects of Carbohydrates on Muscle Growth

The idea of carbohydrate periodization for those endurance athletes being you're trying to get the best of both worlds. You know that carbohydrates are going to drive better performance but you also are trying to get some of these physiological changes that we see when someone has carbohydrate restriction. The way you'd set that up is earmarks certain training sessions where their performance doesn't matter so much and it could be like a light recovery run or some sort of low glycogen training session. To look at how each of them would affect different pathways they would affect i think going along the lines of how he's thinking of mitochondrial biogenesis speaks to this question.
