In others eyes, i guess they're seen as complicit because they did support the regime initially. Ikno, it came back to bite them. But, you know, they were naive. They thought that they were spying for a greater good, rather than a national viewpoint. And whichever way you look at them, that that was their, their belief. Maybe in later times, certainly when they ended up in the soviet union, they realized that perhaps it wasn't all as bad as they had imagined.
