Lucy Mackenzie was born 19 77 and gloriously alive. She doesn't do fruit and vege, but if you'd go to a show that's on now at tate liverpool,. You'd probably say, why? This is no pin board. It's a canvas painted with eye deceiving delicacy and care. And then you'd maybe walk into a room that looked like a shabby, but impressively high ceilinged student flat in glasgow. And you'd know that you are in the presence of an artist who embrace the idea of the tromp loy rather in defiance of the last hundred years or so of art history.
