Vaccine development accelerated during the Covid pandemic, says Dr Andrew Hammond. He has been working for more than 10 years on developing vaccines against viruses that can cause outbreaks and pandemics. 'One of the ways that we can go quickly is to do as much advanced preparation as possible,' he says. "We've been thinking about this, but actually we haven't been doing it quickly"
