The Confusion of Free Will and Destiny

We all know that there is free will from our experience. We also naturally believe in something like destiny. Most of us wonder how both can be true at the same time since they seem to contradict each other. Well there are good philosophical arguments for believing both and for believing that the two ideas don't contradict each other but I think the strongest most convincing evidence comes not from philosophers at all but from storytellers because both of these ingredients responsible free choice and destiny are always present in every successful story. A story without predestination is a story without an author and that's a story without authority. waiting for Godot is such a story.
