China's Engagements in the Middle East Under Xi Jinping

The first Chinese president to visit Saudi was Jiang Zemin in 1999. Hu Jintao went twice in the mid-2000s and then she went to get in 2016. Each one of these visits has resulted in much deeper and more mature relations. A lot of what China emphasized during the Xi visit is stuff that they emphasized last year.
