The Importance of Sketches in My Novel
My book really had its genesis in some ways in something that my mother had done. She actually hand wrote a long hundred page manuscript full of anecdotes about her childhood and illustrated it. So this book is told in 10 parts. Every section begins with one of his incredible sketches, which I'm so proud to have in the book. My mother would have been absolutely delighted.
