The last time an exogenous shock like china weakening spilled over into the us, it derailed the consumer very briefly and then just kept on going. Value has out performed this year after 15 years of under performance. We think that good active management will look very attractive going for a problem peper. But nothing lasts forever - index exposure has literally won the day for 15, perhaps 20 years.
