Within a few short years, the USDA's Human Nutrition Information Service starts in on making their dietary guide for the public. The first thing they come up with is called the food wheel. And ultimately the biggest battle here is totally going to be a battle between a three dimensional circle and a three dimensional triangle.
In the 1990s, the Food Pyramid was one of the most recognizable symbols in nutrition education. But where did it come from? Why was it created by the agriculture department? And why did it tell us to eat a whole loaf of bread every day?
