The Pathway to Life on Earth
We're aiming for being able to start with one molecule of RNA and then set up the rate chemical environment. Once we have that, that kind of system should start to evolve spontaneously. And that would be a pathway to life. There are other scientists who are looking for alternatives to RNA as they start to life. Some people think that maybe life started with something simpler. We may never know which was the one that actually happened on the early Earth.
