The Effects of Suspending Original Emotions on Burnout
There is a large tradition of thought in Western psychology that an emotion has to come inside out so that emotions are there. When we look at Asian Americans and we have them suppress emotions or Asians, we do not find the same effects. It seems to be fine if you don't think of your emotions as things inside you that have to pop out. And what we also find is that suppressing original emotions isn't related to burnout.
