Ellen White made a mandate that all Adventist women had to wear reform dress, but not just reform dress. Dudley Ken writes about his wife dutifully wearing these things and the boys along the street throwing things at her in public because it was so funny looking. And then she quit wearing this thing. She didn't say anything. She just quit wearing it. So people who noticed her thought, well, I guess that's over and gradually it filtered back to the East and was never heard up again.
