Moses killed an Egyptian who was beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian where he sat down by a well. So here we have Moses within the bosom of the Egyptians, remembering his identity, what is his origin. And in doing that, he decides to rid himself of the Egyptian. He hasn't reached into that place out of which he can receive authority from above. They're saying they're going to kill us like you killed them because they even conflict with him as being some kind of leader. In order to go through an entire process for what he needs
