The Southern Poverty Law Center has done a lot of very detailed work on this but, you know, I would be loath to kind of just summarize it. But basically if you look at a lot of the H1B stuff, for example, these are not really top engineers right there people who can displace American engineers and work for cheaper. And by the way, their visa is basically tethered to their current employer so they don't complain. The holistic case for lots more immigration to me is not a strong one.
