Is There Progress in Philosophy?

I think it's easy to become kind of trapped and confused by language. Our language is a very interesting, in a sense, hodgepodge of concepts. And occasionally, we end up showing that two concepts that we thought were very distinct are different ways of thinking about the same thing. I suspect that much of what might be called fundamental ontology is not a productive way to try to get information out of the world.
