The Midianites and the Lord's War of Vengeance
The midianites are spoken of as descendants of abraham by katora in genesis chapter 25, verse two. The designation referred a broader body of people, more of a shifting league of tribes than a particular land or tribal group. They were, as gordon wendam notes, a large confederation operating in several different areas and with various associations. After it was completed, it would be moses time to die.
