In the early 80s, my dad was coming home from work. He's an industrial engineer for Boeing. So he was scheduling work on the 747 or the 777,. whichever plane he was working on at that time. I said, well couldn't we make this easier if we just wrote down these times and so on? And then I ended up writing a little basic program where he could enter the start dates and endates for these different things. It would just make a list of here the places where you're going to need a tool really.
