i want to delve into joe berman's book and talk about the lutheran distinctive in terms of how we how we view culture. The church doesn't say that the church hides out from culture in the kind of anabaptist sense, where we retreat to ourselves. We also don't want to go to the extreme of identifying the kingdom of god with political powers of the political realm. It's really not a primary role of the church to change culture. That's the purpose and function of the church.
