The Iron Age Hill Fort in the Dark Age
Archaeologists found foundations of very large palisades fortifying the entire perimeter of the hill top. The fortifications around south cadbury hill would have required at least 800 people to man these walls. Effectively, there's about a mile total of wall surrounding this hilltop. And it clearly had to be a major site supported by a lot of population and money and trade and power in the late four hundreds and early five hundreds.
