The Everlasting Society
The club was founded in 1738 by Alan Dermott, a do-nothing son of an Irish peer who had lazily drifted through his university years. There would only ever be seven members of this society, each of whom would be known as an everlasting. Every year on the second of November, every everlasting was required to meet for the feast of all souls. Attendance was mandatory, whether or not the everlasting was corporeal or incorporeal, alive or dead. An absent everlasting could be fined or otherwise punished by the president of the society.
