The Liberal Blob and the Socialist Revolutionary Threat
There is this narrative which is actively promoted by figures in the government that there is a liberal left conspiracy. Each one of those allows right-wing political entrepreneurs to position themselves as, you know, respectively expressing the voice of the silent majority against the liberal blob. And then thirdly, defending private property and people's rightful stake in their hard-won assets against expropriation. It doesn't, to me, add up to a fascist politics, but it's clearly authoritarian playing on these sorts of populist right-wing themes.
